Join Vail Health’s Family Birth Center, located at the base of iconic Vail Mountain, where a rewarding nursing career meets an unmatched mountain lifestyle. Our close-knit team cares for mothers and newborns in a 7-bed LDRP unit, including low-risk deliveries, high-risk obstetric patients, and infants in our Level II Nursery.
Experienced RNs enjoy a high level of autonomy while supported 24/7 by OB providers and Neonatal Nurse Practitioners. All nurses maintain NRP and STABLE certifications, allowing them to provide advanced care and stabilization when needed.

This is a night shift position, working 7 pm to 7 am. Night shift differential available.

This position is responsible for caring for antepartum patients, laboring patients through childbirth, recovery, and postpartum, lactation education and assistance, providing family centered care including the well newborn and the Level 2 Nursery. Assure expert, compassion, individualize nursing care for patients and families expected. They collaborate with providers, staff and other members of the team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
- Oversees the daily patient flow to optimize patient care, safety and satisfaction.
- Demonstrates ability to triage incoming patient requests for services.
- Delivers patient education to facilitate plan of care, employer informed healthcare choices, and promote optimal wellness.
- Demonstrates ability to delegate care appropriately and according to Colorado statue.
- Demonstrates competent healthcare assessment skills, prioritizing skills and critical thinking skills.
- Demonstrates ability to handle high telephone volume of patient requests for medications, information and assistance.
- Administers medications, performs treatments, and assists in procedures as needed; consistently adhering to patient safety guidelines.
- Coordinates patient care with other physician practices, Vail Health and others as needed to achieve the highest possible level of patient care and satisfaction.
- Demonstrates ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Delivers excellent service by utilizing Relationship-Based Care to advocate for safety, patient preferences, and optimal communication through partnering with patients and families.

- One-year clinical experience required.
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Colorado or from a valid compact state required.
- Se requiere Soporte Vital Básico (BLS).
- Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP), required.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), required.
- Debe poseer, o poder obtener dentro de un plazo de 90 días, las habilidades informáticas necesarias para completar los requisitos de aprendizaje en línea para competencias específicas del puesto, acceder a formularios y políticas en línea, completar la inscripción de beneficios en línea, etc.
- Título de asociado en enfermería como mínimo para puestos contratados después del 01/07/2018.
